Leadership

Dear Tiger Families,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! My name is Nick Forgette, and it is an honor to continue serving as your student’s principal. I hope your summer has been restful and full of joyful moments. Whether you are a returning family or new to Marionneaux Elementary, I warmly welcome you and look forward to partnering with you and your child(ren) in the year ahead.
At Marionneaux, we ARE “Growing Places”! Our school community remains dedicated to fostering academic excellence, building strong character, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment where every student can thrive. We are proud to be a Highly Performing A rated school, as designated by the state of Arizona. This accomplishment reflects the incredible efforts of our staff, students, and families working together toward a shared vision of student success.
Ms. Sue Connell, our Assistant Principal will be supporting me as well as all of our students and staff in her 3rd year with us. With over 25 years of experience in education, Ms. Connell brings invaluable knowledge and leadership to our campus. Her passion for student learning and community connection continues to strengthen the heart of our school.
We are also thrilled to share that over the summer, several enhancements to our campus are being worked on. Our school was freshly painted, new benches will be added in front of the school to support arrival and dismissal routines, and our courtyard is receiving a beautiful upgrade with new artificial turf pavers and built-in seating!
Curriculum and Instruction:
This year, we will continue to focus on strengthening instruction and supporting the growth of every learner. We continue to say “Progress Over Perfection”. Our goal is to ensure that all students, regardless of background, receive the high-quality education they deserve. We are also continuing our focus on building meaningful relationships. At Marionneaux, we believe that in order to reach a child’s mind, we must first capture their heart. Our teachers are committed to using engaging, student-centered strategies—including Kagan structures and the Well-Managed Schools model—to create respectful, supportive, and effective learning environments for all students.
Student Placement:
The process of student placement is thoughtful and collaborative. Our staff considers multiple factors, including academic needs, learning styles, and social-emotional development, to create balanced classroom environments. While we know that some students may have preferences, please understand that changes are very difficult to make without disrupting this balance. All of our teachers are committed to providing a positive and nurturing classroom experience for every student.
Thank you for your support in helping your child adjust to new routines and relationships. It’s normal for it to take a few weeks to feel fully settled, and we are here to support them every step of the way.
We can’t wait to kick off the new school year on August 6th! Thank you for choosing Marionneaux Elementary School—where our mission is “Empowering leaders and inspiring life-long learners."
Here’s to a wonderful year ahead!
Sincerely,
Nick Forgette
Proud Principal at Marionneaux Elementary School
